At the 2005 National Reining Breeders Classic, held April 19-24, Dell Hendricks, the NRBC’s most consistent champion, passed the milestone to become the National Reining Horse Association’s newest Million Dollar Rider!
The NRHA and NRBC honored Dell with a champagne toast during the NRBC Open Finals Draw Party after his first go earnings pushed him past the million dollar mark.
He joined the elite NRHA Million Dollar club, which includes Bill Horn, Shawn Flarida, Tim McQuay, Todd Bergen and Duane Latimer and all five of those riders were at the NRBC to congratulate him on his accomplishment.
“I’m thrilled to reach this goal,” Hendricks noted. “I never dreamed it would happen, then I got close and was consumed with getting there. It felt good to reach it. It felt even better to get it behind me and stop worrying about it and get on with my job of showing horses.”

Hendricks did that job very well, in his very next ride after crossing the million dollar mark! Just two days later, he rode Hit The Lights, owned by Doug Adair's Adair Reiners, LLC, to the 2005 NRBC Open title and a $60,000 paycheck.
It was especially fitting that the million dollar mark was crossed at Katy, Texas, during the NRBC Show. Hendricks, of Tioga, Texas, has won an unprecedented five NRBC Open Championships in the event’s eight year history!
Prior to this year’s championship, Dell earned the NRBC’s first open title in 1998 with Mr Boomerjac (Owned by Jim and Pat Warren) and returned for his second win in 2002 riding Starlights Wrangler, owned by Sally Broten.

Dell’s third and fourth titles were back-to-back championships in 2003 and 2004 riding Reminic N Dunit, owned by Tim and Colleen McQuay and David and Bonnie Silva.
In his sterling career, Dell Hendricks has won the NRHA Futurity, a USET Gold Medal, AQHA World Championships, and is a crowd favorite at major reining events.
In addition to competing at the top level of the reining industry, Dell is devoted to the continued growth in all areas of the sport and will serve as the National Reining Horse Association President in 2006.
