Hendricks Reining Horses had the two highest sellers in the annual Legacy Reining Breeders Sale, held October 14, at Green Valley Ranch in Aubrey, Texas.
Original Wrangler sold for $50,000 to Buz and Cobina Post of Hitchin’ Post Farms in Midlothian, Texas.
The bay stallion is by National Reining Breeders Classic Open Champion and earner of over $128,000 Starlights Wrangler. His dam is another star, Spanish Dun It. By $4 Million Sire, Hollywood Dun It, Spanish Dun It is a full sister to Rawhide Dun It that earned over $30,000 and whose first foal is already an NRHA money earner.
Snow Wrangler, also by Starlights Wrangler, is out of Tradition Reining Futurity Non Pro Champion Snow White (Snow White Dun It by Hollywood Dun It), was the other sale topper, selling for $47,000.00 to Doug Adair of Adair Reiners, LLC of Mesa, Arizona.
The best part about the Legacy Sale horses, according to Million Dollar Reiner Dell Hendricks, is that both colts will stay at Hendricks Reining Horses for training.
“These two colts have been my favorites since they hit the ground,” said Dell. He continued, “I was hoping I would have the opportunity to train them and show them, so I am honored that the new owners have decided to put them in training with me. I am really excited about the Wrangler offspring.”
It’s become a habit for Hendricks Reining Horses to top prestigious sales. Last year, another Starlights Wrangler, Dun It In The Bay became the highest-ever selling filly at the NRHA Futurity Prospect Sale
Starlights Wrangler is the senior stallion in the Hendricks lineup and is the highest money-earning son of Grays Starlight (X NCHA Open Futurity Finalist Wranglers Connie). Owned by Hendricks Broten Equine Assets, “Wrangler” is a USET Festival of Champions Reserve Champion, NRHA Futurity and Derby Open Finalist.
From the sale pen to the show pen, the impact of the Starlight Wrangler foals is substantial. His foals have earned multiple futurity championships, and Dun It By Starlight, was ridden by Sally Broten to win the 2005 NRHA Non Pro Derby Reserve Championship!
