Taris Little VInage + Dell Hendricks

Tioga, Texas-based Hendricks Reining Horses, Inc., under the guidance of National Reining Horse Association Million Dollar Rider, Dell Hendricks, has become known as a premier breeding center in recent years. So, when major client and friend Doug Adair, opted to sell his broodmare band, Hendricks hoped to find someone with a sincere interest in purchasing and continuing to breed the outstanding mares.

Hendricks said, “They talk about stallions, but mares are at least fifty percent of the equation. If you want to raise great prospects, you have to have a great mare. There can be good mares that never showed, but the really great ones have gone and beat the best as performers.”

Like Hendricks, Bill and Patty Fingland of Rogersville, Missouri, believe in mare power and were glad to have the opportunity to purchase some of the industry’s most accomplished “mommas”. Hendricks noted, “They recognized quickly that a set of mares like this just doesn’t come along - most of the time people don’t want to sell those mares at any price.”

The agreement was made and leading the list of great mares is NRHA Hall of Fame inductee Taris Little Vintage -- only dam in history to produce two Open NRHA Futurity Champions - Hollywood Vintage and Taris Designer Genes. She, herself, placed 3rd in the NRHA Open Futurity in 1994 with Dell riding. She won over $50,000 and her foals, to date, have earned a whopping $421,000!

Another headliner is Rosalie Dillon, the dam of USEF Reining Champion and AQHA World Champion Matt Dillon Dun It. Her produce have earned over $195,000.00.

Dun It To Rein

Dun It To Rein was the NRBC Limited Open Co-Reserve Champion with lifetime earnings over $24,000.00 and My Lucky Moonstone was an NRHA Non Pro year-end champion with Lifetime Earnings over $42,000.00 and offspring earning over $94,000.

Rio Dun Good was an NRHA Non Pro Derby Reserve Champion with career earnings over $52,000.00 and Smart Chinas Chic is an NRHA Open Futurity Finalist with LTE over $18,000.00 and offspring with LTE over $51,000. One of her babies won the 2007 AQHA Amateur Reining World Championship.

Rounding out the aristocratic set of mares is Dun Its Miss Kali, with offspring LTE over $24,000 and Lena Dun It -- an NRBC Intermediate Open Champion with career earnings over $48,000.

The Finglands are keeping the mares under the management of Dell Hendricks. Hendricks, who orchestrated putting the group of mares together for the previous owner, is glad to keep monitoring them and their production and is the contact for anyone needing information on the mares or their offspring that might be for sale.

Fingland Stables is located in the Missouri Ozarks just five miles east of Springfield in the town of Rogersville. The 80 acre ranch is surrounded by rural residential estates, making the environment inviting for raising young foals. Natural areas of woodlands encourage deer and other wildlife to share the grazing pastures with mares and foals. The special equine fencing has been carefully designed for pleasing esthetics, ease of pasture rotation and horse safety. For information, visit the web site at www.finglandstables.com.
